Hi thams, don't trust this people. The current version of the app (1.2.95) is almost a year old and it is abandoned. This people don't care for the app or its users, you better look for another alternative.

The worse thing is I saw they put this half-baked piece of abandonware on sale in the Mac App Store for 10€!

Hi Kerry,

At the moment every document created with click.to is saved in the click.to temporary folder which gets deleted after click.to is closed.
The only possibility to save your files constantly is either to move them from the temporary folder to somewhere else or like you mentioned use the re-save function.

We will think about some extra functionality to let the user define an own (non-)temporary folder in the desired location.

Is it possible to change where the Word document created by Click.to defaults to? Right now, it's going into the subfile of a subfile. I realize that I can always re-save, but it would be faster if the Word document created by Click.to would go directly to the Desktop, preferably in its own folder. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how?

This is exactly the feature that I would like to see. In fact, the lack of this feature is all that is stopping me from using Click.to, because I don't want to see the pop-up every time I press CTRL-C. If I could choose the trigger key combination myself, I would download the software today.

I started trying click.to and added several web search engines I use at work. I wanted to install click.to on every computer at work and have the same web search engines on all of them, however I missed the import/export preferences option in Windows version. While I was able to import my preferences from the Mac OS X version I could not import them to the Windows machines.

Even though there is the option to create universal shortcuts that work on the whole operating system I don't find that too useful because there are hundreds of different keyboard shortcuts on different applications, so it's very easy to have click.to shortcuts interfering with other applications shortcuts.

Instead of that I believe that it would be very useful and easy to have ability to assign one letter shortcuts to choose our favorite actions from the satellite icons view. This shortcuts would only work when you press ctrl+c and the satellite icons show up, in this moment pressing "g" would work as clicking on Google icon, or pressing "w" would work as clicking on Wikipedia icon (just two examples). This way we would save even more clicks by avoiding clicking on the satellite icons, and using our favorite actions would be as easy as using "ctrl+c, g" for google, "ctrl+c, w" for wikipedia, etc.

I’m having a problem with Click.to and EverNote as well. I just downloaded click.to, primarily to use with EverNote. However, when I opened the preferences to turn the Evernote action on, it wasn't listed in the actions menu. I created one with the + button and "Add an app action" option, but it seems like it should have been in the default list, since the Evernote compatibility was advertised on the Click.to website. Also, when I use the action I created, it does not create a new note with the selection, but instead pastes it into whatever current note is open. Is that the way it was intended to work? It would be more useful if it opened up a new note.

Hi,

How do you upload to a sub folder on box.com?

I can upload to the root and first level folder by just typing the folder name in but I can't seem to figure out how to do it for a sub folder.

I have tried with / and \ between the folder names, I have even tried the subfolder url but no joy.

I'm quite surprised that I wasn't presented with a list of folders and subfolders when I click on the box.com icon in click.to... :-/

Hi, there.

I found this software very useful, but there is only one thing that makes me little unhappy. The problem is when I paste some code into pastebin, the title of this paste is title of my editor (I mean "caption" option in parameters). Does it possible to make that when I copy some text with Ctrl+C and choose icon for pastebin, text input for paste's title is appeared?

Hi thams,

I am sorry, I was referring to the Windows version of click.to.
We tested the Mac version of click.to again and you are right!

We will fix this in the next couple of days.

I will announce the update here!

Shall I publish this privacy vulnerability widely, to save others from being victimized?

Collecting information from other topics and using some imagination and experimenting a bit I ended up in finding out the arguments of the call patterns you need to insert in order to make Thunderbird work similarly to outlook in click.to. So when you add a new "windows application call" and you are requested to customize the new application, you need to enter the app name, the path in your hard disk and the following to the "Arguments of the call" field:

-compose" ""body=[Text]"
in case you want the copied test appear in Thunderbird's new mail Body

-compose" ""subject=[Text]"
in case you want the copied test appear in Thunderbird's new mail Subject

I have tried both of the above with click.to version 0.9.7.1370 and works fine!

Hi there,

It seems that Click.to has broken my clipboard. Now when I copy and paste, the formatting is not kept. And the same thing happens with formulas in Excel. This problem happens in all programs. I've uninstalled click.to but it is still happening.

Any advice on how to undo this problem?

It is easy for me to observe... when click.to is running, I copy a URL that points to my own server. I can see the call immediately in that server's log files.

When I stop click.to, the behavior stops.

Note: I do not need to do anything other than cmd-c (copy) in order to cause this behavior. (I.e., I don't need to select one of the click.to pop-up choices for this to happen).

Hi thams,

Sorry for the late reply!

We can assure you that click.to does not make any hidden/silent HTTP calls!
What makes you think that click.to performs these calls?
